The success of a film or television presentation depends largely on the work of the actor and it is through his work that he brings life to the screen. The objective of acting is to create a make believe world and involve the audience as they go through the grind of varied emotions. The actors need to get into their character and make the audience accept them in the role they are in and to do this; they need to use a number of techniques and possess several skills that enable them to convey their understanding of a character and allow a great variety of expressiveness. To be a master of theses techniques and skills they must have a goods command over their voice, speech and the language; and of course the body language. CGSA covers crucial elements of learning necessary for budding actors seeking to hone their basic acting skills for television and films. Apart from theoretical inputs pertaining to acting styles, the students are also exposed to al aspects that have a direct bearing on an actor’s career.

Quite apart from the physical skills that he must acquire, the actor requires training of the mind; he has to learn to concentrate; to think and respond creatively; to observe; to recall and recreate emotions in a selective way; he also has to think deeply about a text and analyze it by and large, the audience is attracted by the actors on the screen and expects them to give a believable and moving performance. The actor in the profession survives by his talent allied to great skills which can only be learning through systematic training.

The students of this course are trained in various departments of verbal and non verbal communication. Due stress is laid on developing the students sensibility as a person; sensitizing his imagination; creating in him a keen sense of observation; refining his critical appreciation of human behavior and their actions; a sense of rhythm in the movement and a sense of music in the mind.
